ViK Duality EVT7B “BEAST”

Built as the most aggressive expression of the ViK Yūgen philosophy, this Duality EVT7B strips the instrument down to what matters: exceptional materials, uncompromising hardware, extended-range performance and the unmistakable feel of a ViK.

The 27” baritone scale gives the low register the tension, definition and authority a serious 7-string demands, while the Evertune F7 keeps the instrument locked in regardless of tuning, attack or playing intensity. A set of Fishman Fluence Modern pickups provides the output and articulation to match, with the push-pull volume control accessing the second voice without adding unnecessary controls to the layout.

Underneath the satin black finish is a one-piece master-grade alder body, paired with a curly maple neck stained black and a Gaboon ebony fingerboard. No fingerboard inlays. No ornamental distractions. Black hardware throughout. The result is deliberately severe—a monochromatic instrument whose character comes from its form rather than decoration.

And despite its restrained appearance, BEAST is built to the same standards and by the same hands as every instrument carrying the ViK name.

For players who have wanted a genuine ViK extended-range instrument without stepping into the increasingly elaborate territory of Sovereign Reserve, BEAST occupies a particularly interesting place in the lineup: a purpose-built 27” seven-string from Yūgen, focused almost entirely on performance.

Dark. Minimal. Relentless.
