Black Orchid takes that timeless black-and-purple combo and dials it up to eleven. Think peanut butter and jelly, but make it even better fit. This build came together as part of our ViK Vision line, so it's packing all the usual glowing suspects:

Oversized glow-in-the-dark ViK logo on the headstock

Glowing purfling around the entire body

Split block inlays lighting up the board

To stay on theme, I dropped in a custom set of BKP Polymaths with etched black/purple zebra bobbins — a perfect match for the concept.

But let's talk centerpiece.

That black-stained burl maple top is absolutely unreal. The figure is ridiculously tight, and the double burst of purple and black creates this deep, almost liquid texture that wraps the ViK Duality curves like they were drawn with a razor. The glow purfling cuts through just enough to give the whole thing a surreal glow-from-within effect.

Hardware? A Gotoh 510 trem with full-floating setup and massive steel block — smooth, reliable, and ready for action.

To this day, this design remains one of our most popular ever, especially among female populations — and it blows up the internet every time it hits the feed.

No surprise there.
