HELLBOUND

ViK Duality 6 “HELLBOUND”

This project started as a simple Halloween tribute — and that’s where some of the original design and color choices came from.

But somewhere along the way, it became something else.

The name stuck, but the meaning dug way deeper — into the spiritual side of life.

The path we choose.

The decisions we make.

The way we treat others — and how we respond to being treated ourselves.

The mistakes. The lessons we either learn… or don’t.

All of it becomes part of the luggage we carry through life.

And over the years, that load can get heavier. Sometimes unbearably so. And when it does, there’s only one road left — and it leads straight down.

That’s when you realize:

You’re HELLBOUND.

This build features one of the finest burl maple tops I’ve ever held in my hands.

The figure was so rich, so complex — with circular patterns like ripples or eyes — I even gave it a nickname: “BURLT”, a mashup of burl and quilt.

It was stained with dark red, fiery orange, and deep black to give the feel of burning hellfire — intense, chaotic, terrifying.

A massive glow-in-the-dark vine inlay, full of twisting lines and sharp thorns, runs down the fretboard — because this path is not going to be painless. But somewhere in the design… there’s also a flicker of hope.

Because this road has already been walked for us all — about 2,000 years ago.
