There are guitars you admire for the woods, the craftsmanship, the specifications or the sound. And then there are guitars that seem to have a personality before you even plug them in.

ILLUMINAUGHTY is one of those.

The name first appeared in a comment under an earlier ViK VISION build and immediately stuck. It was clever, provocative and somehow felt like it belonged to a guitar that had not yet been imagined. Eventually the right concept came together around it.

The ILLUMI side comes from the VISION DNA: purple illumination carried throughout the instrument in the purfling, fret markers, pickups, controls, switch tip and oversized ViK logo. Under UV light, the guitar transforms completely.

The NAUGHTY side comes from somewhere much older and much wilder — the rebellious, excessive, unapologetically sexual spirit that has always lived alongside rock ’n’ roll.

The fingerboard became the centerpiece of that idea. Custom exotic-dancer inlays move across a dramatic black-and-white ebony board, combining abalone with glowing purple elements. Every pose was developed specifically for the limited space between the frets, retaining movement, femininity and attitude while remaining completely native to the design of the instrument.

But there was another effect I was chasing throughout the entire project.

Sometimes you see a woman so extraordinarily beautiful that, for a moment, your brain almost refuses to process what it is looking at. The proportions, the perfection, the sexuality — everything feels exaggerated beyond ordinary reality, like something you are used to seeing only on a TV screen. You know she is standing right there, yet some part of your mind is still saying: this cannot possibly be real.

That was exactly the feeling I wanted ILLUMINAUGHTY to create.

Not simply a beautiful guitar. Not merely an elaborate one. Something so visually intense, so complete and so far outside the ordinary that the first reaction is almost disbelief.

That sense of “beyond beautiful” became one of the defining ideas behind the project, and every major element was developed around it.

The master-grade top is finished in Celestial Aura Glow over a black limba body, paired with a rosewood neck and black-and-white ebony fingerboard. The same materials and visual language continue through the custom VIKUPS, bespoke controls, glowing details and hardware. The pickups themselves use pure ebony and black-and-white ebony bobbins with purple glow-in-the-dark inlays and black hex pole pieces. The custom knobs are made from ebony and BWE with glowing toppers and lip-print inlays, while even the selector switch receives a custom ebony tip.

Nothing feels borrowed from another guitar, and nothing exists simply to add another decorative feature. The objective was to make every component reinforce the same identity until the entire instrument felt inevitable.

That is what places ILLUMINAUGHTY within the ViK Sovereign Reserve.

Sovereign Reserve is not about stacking rare woods, expensive components or elaborate inlays onto a guitar. It is about creating an instrument with an identity strong enough that every element belongs to the same idea. ILLUMINAUGHTY could not become another guitar without ceasing to be ILLUMINAUGHTY.

And underneath all of that visual drama is a serious modern ViK player: a 25.26" scale, 24 wide stainless-steel frets, 14–20" compound radius, set-in rosewood neck, black limba body, Gotoh 510 tremolo and locking tuners, and a custom VIKUPS set with independent push-pull coil splitting.

It is outrageous, provocative and deliberately excessive, but never random.

ILLUMINAUGHTY looks almost too wild to be real.

But it is. And there will never be another one.
